Matthew 28:19-20 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The founders of Liberia as a Republic were former slaves convertes in the Teachings of Jesus Christ (Christian Faith). They departed from the United States of America, in search of a Land. Wherein they could settle down in Africa. These people's ancestors have been slaves for more than four hundred years. So, they did not have any home to which they could return after their freedom from slavery in the USA.
However, they had no other alternative but to trace Africa. Under extreem risky conditions; they sailed accross the Atlantic. Singing songs of worship and praises, unto the Most High. In 1822, they arrived on the West African coast and 1847 they announced to the entire World; The first African Nation as: The Republic of Liberia.
From that time up this date; the Christian faith has been spreading through the four corners of Liberian society. So, Christianity, Islam and African traditional practices do co-exist, harmoniously in this beautiful part of Africa.
The local people of this part of Africa do speak sixteen greater local languages and hundred and four minor local languages.
